A self-hosted intranet is an intranet that is hosted and maintained on either an organization's own cloud environment or their own on-premise environment. Also referred to as an on-prem intranet, this allows organizations heightened security and complete control over all aspects of their tech stack, while having all the benefits of an intranet application.
2. Why choose an on-premise or self-hosted intranet?
As a result, an on-premise intranet is the preferred option for many businesses, such as Large enterprises with established IT infrastructures, organizations in regulated industries, such as banking, healthcare, and government, and companies with specific data handling and privacy requirements. On-premise and self-hosted intranets are used interchangeably but there's one key difference. An on-premise intranet is a private, internal network hosted and managed on your own data centers. A self-hosted intranet means you have complete control over organizational data without a vendor having access to it.
3. What are the server and hardware requirements?
