Why Interact falls short

Clicks not code. Until you need code.

Interact promises flexibility without complexity. In practice, that promise hits real walls — in what you can build, where you can host it, and what admins deal with every day.

Configured, not built.

Interact's customization is admin-configured and template-driven—their framing is literally "clicks not code." Great for launching fast. Less great the first time your brand, your layout, or your workflow needs something the template doesn't offer.

Cloud, and only cloud.

Interact is SaaS-only. If your legal, procurement, or data-residency requirements point to on-premise—or your IT team simply wants the option on the table—that conversation ends before it starts.

"Missing features" is the recurring review theme.

Interact holds a 4.5/5 on G2, and reviewers consistently praise support. But look closer and the friction is specific: admin and page-building tools have rough edges reviewers call "kinks," legacy tools lag behind newer ones for updates, and engagement analytics isn't self-service—reviewers report needing to request exports from Interact staff rather than pulling the data themselves via API.

Why Axero wins

Axero goes deeper—and gets adopted anyway.

Axero matches Interact feature-for-feature on the basics, then keeps going: full code-level customization, your choice of cloud or self-hosted, and governance built for scale — without losing the ease of use teams actually adopt.

Clicks and code.

Start with drag-and-drop page building, then go as deep as you want: full HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, plus widgets. Your intranet ends up looking like your organization instead of like a template with your logo dropped in the corner.

Your cloud, or your servers.

Axero runs in the cloud or self-hosted on-premise, on single-tenant architecture with SOC 2 Type 2. Deployment stops being the thing that disqualifies a vendor and goes back to being your decision.

Credit where it's due—then depth where it counts.

Interact earned G2's Highest User Adoption and Easiest to Use badges (Enterprise, Spring 2026), and that's real. Axero's answer isn't to argue about ease of use. Recognition, newsletters, and AI are genuine parity; on top of those, Axero adds LMS, Form Builder, App Manager, fine-grained delegated permissions, REST APIs across 500+ endpoints, connectors for Google Drive, Dropbox, Box, and SharePoint embedding, and Axero Copilot for smart search.
