Axero Solutions adds social functionality to uploaded files to make the Communifire networking platform more collaborative and valuable for organizations. The new features give files the kind of full social collaboration flexibility that is now enjoyed by other types of interactive content in a commnunity.
(San Diego, CA, USA) – May 17, 2013 – Axero Solutions, an established technology leader in the enterprise social networking marketplace, has just announced new and improved social functionality for files within its signature platform, Communifire.
The Communifire social collaboration software solution has already earned a reputation as one of the most popular, affordable, robust, and customizable social networking products in the industry, and now it also boasts powerful, user-friendly file management functions. The upgraded features apply to a variety of formats including MS Office, Open Office, and PDF as well as picture and video files.
Members have long been able to upload files, for example, into folders for the entire community or into folders within specific spaces or groups. Those options are available based upon permission controls that can be managed on individual folder or sub-folder levels. But now other users who have permission to view the files can preview, discuss and collaborate on files via comments, rate files to bring the best resources to the surface, “like” files to show approval, and also share files with friends and others who have viewing clearance through the Activity Ticker.
Another exciting new feature is an innovative check-out tool that facilitates the editing of files without inadvertently causing the trouble and confusion of multiple edited versions. When someone wants to make changes to a file, for instance, they simply check the file out the way someone might check out a white paper from a virtual library. After they are finished with the file they check it back in as a newer version. Meanwhile a complete file change history is maintained as an archive that allows people to view and refer to older versions as needed.
