Communifire 2.5 release with significant user experience enhancements

Axero Solutions announces the release of Communifire version 2.5 with significant new user experience enhancements. A comprehensive overhaul to features such as the activity stream, comments, ratings, and events makes content even more engaging.

(San Diego, CA, USA) – September 8, 2011 – Axero Solutions, an innovative technology leader in the enterprise software marketplace, has just released Communifire 2.5, the newest version of the company’s flagship social networking and collaboration platform. The new version features a whole new aesthetic look for some key areas of the user interface, plus other exciting and value-adding functionality enhancements.

“Engagement and interaction are the keys to successful social collaboration,” explains Vivek Thakur, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Axero Solutions. “The driving focus of Communifire is to fuel those activities and generate greater person-to-person interaction. With this new version now available to our customers,  Communifire has even more power to engage members of a community and inspire them to interact with the platform’s content.”

One of the most significant changes to Communifire in version 2.5 is in the personal Activity Stream. There updates from all the spaces and people that a person is following are conveniently consolidated into a single, personalized news feed. Communifire has also been updated to a more familiar and optimized layout for better usability, faster adoption, and better organization of a users content. Version 2.5 offers more room for scalability and future enhancements, too, adding to its customizable capabilities.

Members can now “like” each other’s wall post updates, and a “dislike” option for more unconventional communities was added in response to a special customer request. This option can, of course, be turned off – but it provides the added flexibility to permit members communicate about content with a more complete range of reactions.

The rating system for content is also more sophisticated in Communifire 2.5. Content can be rating on a 5-star scale with half-stars possible, and there is a control that lets users rate content more quickly. Current ratings are presented more clearly and visibly, along with the total number of votes, so that people can make better use of the crowd-sourced content evaluation system. To calculate the average rating for content, the platform now uses the a Bayesian average. This generates more accurate information with viewer data points earlier in the rating process and handles large deviation patterns. The rating tool is available on all content types and can even be added to the comments section.

Comments can also be nested to create conversation sub-threads. This makes it easier to follow a conversation and advance a set of ideas through comments. Rounding out the user experience enhancements in Communifire 2.5 is a new, friendlier look for events and more time and date format options for community defaults and individual preferences.
